The relationship between cluster size and the frequency of participation in ties. The vast majority of points forming ties (90 % of all ties) are leaves, followed by pairs of leaves. Although the number of ties depends on data distribution, our results showed that the equidistances found in the initial distance matrix might be used for estimating the total number of ties in a given set of objects
