Data Model. This simplified UML diagram shows an excerpt of the data model. Here we see how compounds together with linked files and containers actually form a heterogeneous data tree linked to objects from other “tables” like projects and assays. While it is possible to map these kinds of data graphs to tables in a relational database, we consider tree shaped data formats like JSON or XML to be better suited for this task
